Cars, clothes, paper, even computers is all stuff that we know is reusable after its been used. But what about our feelings? All so many times we’ve been to the point where we feel as though we’ve been used. But our hearts are something we can’t easily see as used goods. What do you do when you have given someone money, but they have yet to say thank you. You’ve given them a ride, for them not to ask to put anything in on the gas. You’ve allowed them the privilege to stay in your home, only to have your food eaten up, phone bill sky high, and broke because you footed their half. Simply used.
The big miraculous answer, thank God. Yes, thank God! Thank Him for allowing you to minister to them. Even though they might not have lived up to your expectations, you lived up to God’s. God used you to help them. And though they may have thought of it as getting over and you see it as being used, God still blessed in the experience. God is still going to bless you for being a blessing. But don’t harbor any ill feelings. "Forget about what's happened; don't keep going over old history." Isaiah 43:18 (The Message) Move on and leave that person’s baggage with that experience, because everyone is not like that. Different people respond in different ways. Who knows, God may use the next person you bless to be a major blessing to you in return. But leave each experience knowing you’ve done what God wanted you to do. If the end result means that you "feel" used, so be it. If you don’t like that word, use refurbished, reconditioned, or recycled. But the truth of the matter is you were used. You were used by God!
