What is the X-factor or what is X? The only "X" many of us know about is the X we used in math classes like Algebra and Geometry. And some of us didn't do that well in those courses. But X is the unknown. The item that cannot be identified or the information that is not freely given to us in the equation. X is the value that has to be figured out. Therefore stemmed the hours of homework we had in math class to figure out the mysterious X.
The X in our spiritual lives is almost the same but slightly different. In spiritual math, we already know what the X's are. Because we are all EX-something; ex-gossiper, ex-drunkard, ex-liar, ex-fornicator, ex-thief, ex-clubber, etc. Just like that math equation, not everyone knows what our X is but they will try and figure it out. They'll try to manipulate the data, create formulas, and theories about the information given about us and to find out what our X is and expose it. But it does not matter, the one person that needs to know and should know already does, God. He knew our X before we did. And if He's forgiven our X, so should they. Because now we have a NEW LIFE and our X isn't part of the equation. Factor This Equation...Don't go back and look over your old notes to try and figure out what the X. As far as we are concerned, consider our X as unknown.
"What this means is that those who become Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun!" 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
