Thank God we made it through another week! After the myriad of issues we had to face this 5th day of a workweek and 6th day of a calendar week, we are glad to see Friday arrive. Everything we have endured in this week’s span has really broken us down. Some to the point of physical exhaustion whereas others to the stead of mental fatigue. You literally feel your body winding down as Friday approaches. Our Little Engine That Could mentality of "I think I can, I think I can" reworded for our work life to "One more day, One more day" until Friday is here!
Believe it or not, it’s on the down slide that most people receive their breakthrough. When we have given all we’ve got and feel as if we are completely drained is when our help kicks in. The strength arises for us to do the task we thought we couldn’t do last minute. The finances show up when we think there was nothing available in the account. Even when the boss says, "It’s Friday, go on home for the day" shortly after lunch. Therefore the end of a thing is sometimes better than the beginning or middle of one. The last shall be first and the first shall be last according to Matthew 19:30. Also the latter will be greater than the former as it says in Haggai 2:9. On those accounts, we should thank God it’s Friday!
For it closes out a busy workweek and welcomes in the relaxing weekend. But like any day the Lord has made, it is also filled with new grace, mercy, power and surprises for us to rejoice.
