We are said to live in a microwave generation. Which means, we want everything fast, even love. For so long we have all longed for love, but not just any type but “the right love.” It just seems it takes so long to get here, if it gets here at all. Then we are left waiting, waiting, and waiting. We already don’t like waiting, and to add patience into the equation; leaves us really crazy.
1 Cor. 13:4 says, “Love is patient.” And Romans 5:3 says, “We should glory in tribulations; knowing that tribulation works patience.” Is that it? Is this the process? Since love is what we want, we are going to go through some stuff; break-ups, gossip, drama, and heartaches from old relationships in order to get to the real one. It’s certainly not fun as the process goes along. At times it can be down right devastating, but worth it all in the end. It’s all a matter of how bad you want it. But don’t be fooled, patience in love doesn’t mean you should do and put up with everything all for the sake of love. God will show you if this is where He’s working and if it’s okay for you to join Him there. But if it’s really love you want and not the things associated with lust, you’ll find it a little easier to be patient. Anything worth having is worth waiting for, and anything worth waiting for, should be worth going through to obtain.
